Found in Naija: ORS Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner – Product Review

IMG_1744Price: Varies. It depends on the size of the bottle and where you get it. The last bottle I got was 700 Naira.

Size: 370 mL/12.25 oz (small bottle) 680 mL/23 oz. (large bottle)

Availability: This conditioner is EVERYWHERE, which is great. I have seen it at shops, supermarkets, markets, and local salons throughout the country. I was even able to by it when I was doing my NYSC.

Product Description:

Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner softens, detangles, moisturizes and strengthens the hair. The essential ingredients including olive oil, silk proteins and sweet orange oil provide the ultimate conditioning experience, leaving the hair refreshed and restored with natural softness and shine. [Taken from large bottle]

Directions: After shampooing with the Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo, apply a generous amount to hair and comb through for thorough distribution. Place a plastic cap over the hair and sit under a warm dryer for 10-15 minutes or leave on the hair for 45 minutes to 1 hour without heat. Rinse thoroughly.

Ingredients: Water, Glycine Soja Oil (Soybean), Glycerin, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil (Olive), Hydrolyzed Collagen, Quaternium-80, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Oil (Orange), Citral, d-Limonene, Linalool, Polyquaternium-37, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate, Dicaprate , PPG-1 Trideceth-6 , Panthenol , Silk Amino Acids , PEG-9 Dimethicone , Anthemis Nobilis Extract (Chamomile) , Salvia Officinalis Extract (Sage) , Urtica Dioica Extract (Nettle), Rosmarinus Officinalis Extract (Rosemary), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Achilea Millefolium Extract (Yarrow), Actinidia Chinensis Fruit Juice (Kiwi), Dimethicone, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans, EDTA, Triethanolamine, DMDM Hydantoin, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone , CI 15985 (Yellow #6), CI 19140 (Yellow #5)

Fragrance: It has a strong orange scent. It can be a bit overwhelming. However, it doesn’t last once I rinse and style my hair.

Texture and color: It has a light orange color and slightly liquid-like consistency. It is not runny but not too thick.

Packaging: It comes in a squeeze bottle and I always try to get every bit out. ORS recently changed its logo and branding for all its products. I like the new look and design of the packaging.

Uses: I have used it alone, mixed with oils, and mixed with oils and conditioners. It works well for all these uses. Typically, I use this conditioner for my deep conditioner mix and I love the results. It helps to make my hair so very soft. This conditioner is a balanced moisture and protein conditioner. I like the fact that it has some protein in it because my hair needs protein often since it is so fine. This conditioner behaves more moisturizing for my hair. If your hair is very sensitive to protein, I would not recommend using this conditioner every week.

This product is available essentially everywhere in Nigeria, which is incredible. If you don’t live in a major city, you can have a great conditioner for your hair journey.

Would I purchase again? Yes. I have used this conditioner for years, long before I started this quest for healthy hair. I even tweeted ORS about how I feel about this conditioner recently.  I like the results that I get and it is at a reasonable price.

Have you tried this conditioner before? What do you think of it?
