2014 Hair Goals

With the new year, people generally make resolutions and goals for the year. I generally don’t make new year’s resolutions but I’m trying something different when it comes to my hair. In order to grow as a person, I am going to make some hair goals that I hope to achieve by the end of 2014. Hopefully, posting this force me to be accountable and consistent.

In October 2013, I decided to cut my hair because my ends were horrible. I cut it to a bit past shoulder length. Since then, I’ve been focused on maintaining healthy ends and length retention and I plan to continue into 2014.

Grow and maintain my edges and nape

As I’ve mentioned before, my edges are quite sensitive and delicate. I can’t do too much to them, like braids or tight buns, or they will disappear. My nape is a bit better but they aren’t great. The nape is much shorter than the rest of my hair towards the back of my head. This year, I want to devise a plan to grow and keep the length of my edges and nape. The texture there is very fine and delicate so that will determine how I treat my hair there.

Be consistent with my regimenSuccesful Consistency

At times, I have trouble with consistency. It happens in all areas of my life and it tends to pick up when things get busy. I want to be consistent with my regimen because I know that will help me maintain and improve the length and health of my hair.

Learn more styles for my hair lengthHairRomance_30Hairstyles

Right now, my “hair styling” is quite limited. Essentially, I just do buns. One of the great things of having longer hair is all the wonderful styles you can do. My goal this year is to learn how to do more cute styles for my hair length. If you have any tips or tricks, please leave a comment.

There you have it. I think with some determination and focus, I can reach these goals.

Do you have any goals/resolutions for the year? Did you meet your 2013 goals?
