Found in Naija: Creme of Nature with Argan Oil Moisture & Shine Shampoo – Product Review

Sulfate-free shampoos are always recommended for folks on healthy hair journeys. They are able to cleanse the hair without overly stripping it. I’ve had the opportunity to use several. Some that behave like shampoos and some that don’t. Some that have great properties and others that don’t. These are my views on Creme of Nature’s sulfate-free Argan Oil Moisture & Shine shampoo. I have used this shampoo since early October.

Price: I bought this for 650 Naira but I have seen it at other price points.

DIRECTIONS: Apply a generous amount to wet hair and massage into lather. Rinse thoroughly and repeat. Follow with Creme of Nature® with Argan Oil Intensive Conditioning Treatment.

INGREDIENTS: Aqua (Water) (Eau), Trideceth-7, Carboxylic Acid, Decyl Glucoside, Glycol Stearate, Polyquarternium-10, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Quaternium-15, Parfum (Fragrance), Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, CI 14700(Red4), CI19140(Yellow 5).

Fragrance: It has a pleasant, sweet smell. It is not terribly strong but it can linger in your hair after washing.

Texture and color: It has a dark yellow pearlescent color and it is quite thick.

Uses: As this is a shampoo, I use it to cleanse my hair. Typically, I dilute it down in an applicator bottle and use the applicator bottle to focus it on my scalp. I usually dilute it to a 1:4 shampoo to water ratio. This ratio gets quite foamy and cleanses my hair well. However, I didn’t truly notice the detangling properties until I used the shampoo undiluted. My hair was soft and I could easily finger comb through it. I cannot do that when I use other shampoos. Normally, I use this shampoo 3 weeks out of the month and clarify on the fourth week.

My take: This is the first Creme of Nature shampoo I have ever purchased. I saw several positive reviews on it. When I saw it the pharmacy, I had to buy it and I’m glad I did. I really like this shampoo. Since I started my hair journey, I’ve used several sulfate-free shampoos. The last one I purchased was Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo. I really did not like it. While it cleansed my hair, it always felt stiff and dry afterwards. I have not had that issue with the Creme of Nature shampoo. My hair feels clean and soft, especially when I use it undiluted. It really does detangle the hair. It does produce a healthy lather, which I did not expect from a sulfate-free shampoo. I noticed that it foams more when I dilute the shampoo.

Would I purchase again? Yes, this is one of the better sulfate-free shampoos that I have used.

Have you tried this shampoo? What do you think of it?
